Ami post of doom on Fadoo! :O

I have a blog post on (the homepage of Bob McCown :] )! :D

This is it :D

This is something I've been wanting to write for a while and I was originally going to post it here but I posted it there even tho I was worried about the response :o

The first comment was kinda what I expected but I haven't gotten any others :] Also guys like that prove my point of the hostility of sports culture xD Like I find it funny he dismisses everything as "drama" when his very comment proved that it's not drama at all to claim homophobia in sports culture xD

But yus, so far so good right? :o And yeah I kept the smileys >_>;; I yam who I yam xD

Who are you and what are you doing in my canon?

Trish: I am going to have three children. From oldest to eldest they shall be named Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream.

and then one day you come home

and you have a fourth child

named hot rod

*is laughing too much*

The moose did it :OOOOOO

That's... :O and tragic ;-;

To Jeff Blair: You're Not Helping™

Dear Jeff Blair (aka Hawkman),

I normally respect you even when I dun agree with you, but your statement on the Primetime Sports (the most listened to sports talk radio show in Canada) roundtable on Friday about how you would never wear a hockey jersey because "I'm not certain I would want to wear the name of a male who is 24 years old on my back, I dunno, you know what I mean?" is NOT FUCKING FUNNY. What's esp screwed up is that you just co-wrote a great article in the Globe and Mail the same day about homophobia in sports, and about the casual homophobic insults and jokes that happen in the lockerroom that make queer ppl afraid to come out in a sports setting (there are still no "out" active players in any of the pro sports, and in all of hockey, until Brendan Burke came out, there were no players OR staff at either the pro or university levels of hockey that was out either) and YOU ARE F-ING CONTRIBUTING TO IT WITH THAT LITTLE "JOKE" of yours! >:O I hope the irony smacked you in the head after the show when you realized what the hell you said >:O

No love, your ex-fan-girl

Transgender Day of Remembrance

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. 163 of us were killed this year... just for being trans. Most of them being trans women of colour..

I never know what to write on TDoR because whenever I try I always end up just kinda breaking down and crying.. or I just feel numb... :( But I want to post something... so I am going to link to a really good post by my good friend Trish... it expresses so many of my thoughts much better than I can right now b/c they would just kinda come out in a cry and scream...

Also, I'm so sick and tired of so-called allies co-opting TDoR as some sort of party or celebration >:| (post is amazing post from another of my friends :))

And finally a video...

I'm going to lay down now :|

I'm freaked out... that's.. awful and horrible! Poor villagers! D:

It's like... soylent green.. but with wrinkle cream :|

ugh >.<

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear an appeal from a group of Native Americans who think the name of the Washington Redskins professional football team is offensive.

The high court on Monday turned away an appeal from Suzan Shown Harjo. That ends the latest round in the 17-year court battle between the Redskins and a group of American Indians who want them to change their name.

Harjo and her fellow plaintiffs have been working since 1992 to have the Redskins trademarks declared invalid. They initially won – the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office panel cancelled the trademarks in 1999. But U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly overturned the ruling in 2003 in part because the suit was filed decades after the first Redskins trademark was issued in 1967.

Ugh ugh ugh... -_- I know it's on a technicality but it's still just keeping the status quo and.. ugh... I wish all the sports teams who have first nations names would just change them.. why not? it doesn't ruin your history, we all u nderstand that times were different, and they're different again NOW! so why not change them if local groups are angry? Esp since in this case it's not even a name of a tribe but a SLUR. Like if there was an outcry over the Edmonton Eskimos, or the Chicago Blackhawks (if there was a problem with it would it that hard to turn the logo into a black HAWK or something? I mean in that case it'd be easy, but even with the Redskins it's just a sports logo... ) and on and on... >.<;;; I dun see the big deal when groups are complaining (OR TAKING YOU TO COURT) except to just be stubborn and inconsiderate and willfully blind to your privilege. >:| And for the "it's just sports" argument, that's CORRECT, it's JUST SPORTS.. so what's the big deal of changing it so that you don't keep tacitly endorsing your racist franchise past? We shouldn't even need court to settle these things... it's sad we do... :\

Girl (horse) Power!!!!!!!!! :D

I know this might be silly, but I think this is still a great female sporting moment :D

Basically, at the Breeder's Cup last weekend, Zenyatta, a mare who had gone undefeated in the filly circuit and was about to be retired, ran against the male horses for her last race... she was last coming out of the gate and was last for most of the race when she overtook everybody and won going away :O

And I do think horse racing, esp the way it currently is constituted is a bit cruel, and they have serious issues (such as serious crazy in-breeding since apparently ppl involved in horse racing have never taken a biology 101 course and drugs) but still... it's still awesome and makes me want to stand up and cheer! :D *stands up and cheers* :]

I dunno, I just think it's an awesome story, (I love Rachel Alexandra too :3) and I wanted to call attn to it :] So yay for girl (horse) power! :D
