Help? :)

I figure I'd ask here and see what happens. :)

I've recently just moved out and I kinda desperately need furniture. Unfortunately I lack a car or van, and while I've found lots of stuff on Craigslist and stuff, I need help getting it. :\ I'll rent a van or something if necessary, but was wondering if nebody in Toronto (or the surrounding area) has a van and would be willing to help me (I'm not v strong either >.>) or if nebody has a dresser, full size or queen bed mattress or frame, or small tv that they dun want sitting around :)

Any help or nething would be rly appreciated! Things have been rly rough lately and I'm hoping to finally be able to settle in and have my own space to recover from some things and stuff :) I ttlly understand if nobody can tho or would be suspicious in helping a stranger :)

<3 Teh Ami

ps: if nebody can help, email me at :D thx! <3

The Series of our Lives Meme! (or the Reading Regrets Meme xD)

Hi! :D

Sry for the lack of posting lately xD I moved last Thursday and things have been kinda hectic :\ Neways I'm back! :D So yay!

This is a meme that Rachel Edidin started and I think it's a great idea so I'm going to do it! (also everybody else out there should do it too >:| )

On the assumption that in ten years, a lot of twenty-somethings will be re-reading Twilight and wincing in embarrassment:

Name three series or writers that you devoured as a teen but are now somewhat sheepish about having liked as much as you did. For each series, list off what you dug about them, what you're wincing at in retrospect, and whether you'd read 'em again.

I'm not sure if I have 3 b/c I was never that big a reader... but I can think of 2 off the bat... and we'll see what the third one becomes xD

1. The Wheel of Time
WHAT I LIKED: At the time, I thought it was rly "clever" how he based his magical stuff on gender "differences", and I just thought the characters were rly interesting.
WINCING IN RETROSPECT: Yeah.. those "gender differences" were just stereotypes, and now looking back on it just makes me go UGH at all the sexist crap in general in that series and the whole "men are from mars, women are from venus" gender essentialism outlook on gender. >:\ Plus the story just dragged on and on, and on retrospect, the characters were actually pretty flat xD Oh and the racism... that was fun too...

2. The Dark Knight Returns/Frank Miller
WHAT I LIKED: I know it's technically not a series since I didn't include Year One or Strikes Again (both of which I didn't read until much later) but I was SO INTO this book when I was in the deepest part of my depression and GID denial and I thought Frank must be a genius and blah blah blah... I thought like, yeah, fuck the world! Kick Superman's ass!! Everybody's hopeless sheep! I just thought it was like the deepest, most brilliant thing evar written xD
WINCING IN RETROSPECT: It's funny cuz reading it now, I appreciate a lot of the stuff about it still, but the anger just seems so foreign to me now, and it kinda scares me just HOW DEPRESSED I was that that anger felt so right to me... and I guess I just dun see the world the same way I used to. xD Which I'm very happy about :)
WOULD I READ 'EM AGAIN?: Oh yus, I still do... it just feels more like a decent and flawed comic book to me now, instead of like, the bible xD

Hrm :\ As I said, I rly didn't read a lot in my teens... so I think there's only 2. Oh well.. :)

Hopefully other ppl were a little better readers than me xD

YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

She ABSOLUTELY deserves this and it finally helps to get rid of some of the dirty taste from when they tried to make her share the Canadian Track and Field Athlete of the year award a few years ago (when she won 5 gold medals) with an able bodied athlete who won none (she fell during the hurdles.. but ppl felt bad for her for falling cuz she was "supposed" to win the gold) and it was just SOOOOO obv discriminatory! >:| Esp with how many media ppl tried to defend it by saying that since "nobody cares" about wheelchair raising, it isn't "worth as much" as "real sports" >:O

I'm SO glad she won this year b/c she ABSOLUTELY deserves it, and not b/c of what she did before but b/c of her AMAZING accomplishments this year, esp at her age! :D

That sounds right :]

Your Personality is Somewhat Rare (ENFP)

Your personality type is enthusiastic, giving, cautious, and loyal.

Only about 8% of all people have your personality, including 9% of all women and 6% of all men

You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.

More great writing on the gay marriage issue from perspectives outside the mainstream narrative

Here is yet another great article about the gay marriage issue by my awesome friend Snugglebitch :D

Like the others I posted (by her and by Willow), I think it's rly important to read and to realize that there's perspectives and narratives out there about this issue that's more than what's being reported or talked about in the "mainstream" (white) queer community. :)
